That said, some new things we’re watching over in GoogleLand…the changes to their main algo are interesting as we track for our clients; those new “buy” buttons too are interesting…as is their method of ranking for “quality updates” too….we’re watching and testing too…
So today I thought I’d start and end with a great site that I know well – www.socialmediaexaminer.com – and it’s wide wide content on yes, Social Media.
There, and I’m being as honest as I ever could be when I’d admit right off the bat – I had NO INKLING that this would be happening! But the twists and turns of a TV show are not what this post is about…instead it’s about the change in the way we viewers use social media to react…and to rant and rave!
Well, in this case…it’s rant mostly as I’ve scoured the various online media sites looking for reactions – and there are hundreds of thousands of “gee whiz I hate it” type tweets and posts and forum comments….and so far I’ve not found a single “yea, way to go” types out there at all (warning spoilers coming!)….and much like “The Red Wedding” episode of the Game of Thrones last summer a huge change in the show’s plot too, eh!
It’s probably no real surprise to our readers that Social Media can play an important part in how one “expresses” themselves about something you care about….and last nite’s Game of Thrones HBO television show validates that premise entirely!
That is, does Social Media enable it’s users to quickly shout out their opinions to one and all?
First, my disclaimer….our youngest son Tanner turned us on to the HBO tv show…..by playing most of season 2 as a marathon about a month ago….and yup, I was hooked!

Well, keeping up with Google is a real chore at times and a new, just launched program entitled “Google +1″ has entered the online social mileu in the last few days. And what do I think? Ummm…well, here’s the skinny on this attempt by Google to try to IMHO, institute a new “social” indicator into their web results.
