Love this site – whitespark.ca - love the owner Darren and if anyone here in Canuckland has a better tool than his Citation one – hold up your hand?
Thought not…this is a great Edmonton based SEO firm and when I read the blog posting below, I knew it deserved a reprint for our own thousands of monthly readers.
Written by a staffer there called Mikel Zaremba, it’s a quick read to see that he’s captured the best 7 day list of shortcuts to get your own site up and ranking for Local search – it really is a great post so here it is in it’s entirety…
Yes, there’s some great ones…as well as some real clinkers. Some are free…some cost something. Some do a really great job…others not so much. Some are pretty specific in their results while others are all over the place…but they all should get a real look/see for you to think on using.
One more note – that like all SEO types, I too use tools. Some of these ones too. But to be really honest here, my own fav’s were built by me – I’m a 40+ year programmer so using VBasic or ASP or .NET or Ruby to build a free-standing desktop tool is still my fav way to go. Sometimes tho, the same results can be had from one of these tools listed here today…but sometimes not, i.e. ymmv…but do give some a look, eh!
Working with any ranking software package, is a very hard usually laborious set of tasks, and for us SEO practitioners, it’s really no different – till we moved away from our old ranking app to the Rank Tracker app from Link-Assistant about 18 months ago.
No surprise really…as a google on the “best rank tracking software” shows them right up at the top with 5 of the top 10 positions. We have reviewed this app before – here – and as you can read there, we were impressed with their offering of quality ranking algos versus the cost…and judging by all the SEO peers I know, it’s a widely shared respect.
Social media tools come in all sizes and shapes and at various costs and monthly subscription rates…and as a disclaimer, we use only a couple of the URLS here and I’ll note same when that arises later in this piece.
And yes, it’s Monday in the am and yes, I’m about “eastered” out…but as there’s still a bit of chocolate left in Canada, I thought that I’d lead this week with this recap….and let me tell you there are some new interesting URLS here…and you should at the least, drop by and take a good look see, eh!
