When it comes to marketing, you’d have to first realize that there has been a TON of material written on same about every conceivable strategy and tactical methodology over the past 100 years. Add in digital thinking too and that TON has grown considerably – and just last week, Google themselves published a great new e-Book on ZMOT or “Winning the Zero Moment of Truth” and I thought it important enough to feature here today.
First, credit here is due to a Jim Lecinski, a Google Chief Evangelist for ZMOT, who is also their U. S. Managing Director, Sales & Service and that alone says much to me.
You know by now as a regular reader, that we do SEO for a great select group of Canadian and global clients and you know that we stay as close to the “bleeding edge” as anyone can and maintain serps for same.
You know that we love what we do, and that truly, search engine marketing is involved and as much of an art as anything you could imagine.
No matter how long and how often I try to help newbies to SEO, it seems like I continue to hear the same old false “SEO tips” from them that they’ve picked up somewhere on the web that are so outdated, so wrong that following them will mean a site banishment from Google!
I read them on forums all across the web, on blogs as comments, on more forums that support these same outmoded and surely “past their best-before date” opinions, that this is the ‘good stuff’ to get your site up onto page #1.
Wrong! Wrong! Wrong! They’re still wrong!
Other bloggers we note, tend to write the “best of the past year” type of posts, and that’s not for us. Instead, we try to look ahead and for 2011, the number of e-Books we’ve found in the past few days can really help one ‘center’ their blogging and SEO Campaigns, we feel…so hence todays posting!
The folks over at HubSpot are one of my favs when it comes to online marketing know-how, eh! And their latest e-Book on Business Blogging for 2011 is about as spot-on as one can find, so I thought I’d lead off with them in todays posting. As well as the link to d/l that e-Book, we’d also point out that the HubSpot article also has a link on their page that will take you to a video from both Tom Peters and Seth Godin, that adds their voices and povs on the real value of blogging. Not a bad way to start 2011, we think….
