google_field-1Yup, I know….using Google itself to tell you where the niches are for your own SMB SEO program may sound like a really basic tactic, but trust me – I think some of the info below may be new to you.

No, I’m not talking about going to Google web search and typing in a keyword phrase of yours and the seeing who ranks on the first page to get some competitive BI (business intelligence) to build on….but something like that for sure. What I’m talking about instead is not “who” ranks for that keyword phrase – but “where” they rank.

How? Here’s a basic one that may be new to you….go to the Google search field and type in exactly this – [keyword phrase] intitle:directory and then click SEARCH.

What’d you find? What you should find is the page one listing of the RANKED results that offer up a list of the web directories (ranked that is!) for that keyword phrase.

So? Well the answer to that is that Google has ranked these directories for you! - they’re considered to be authoritative/trustworthy directories by Google and they offer up an URL apiece that shows you where you can go and list your own firm in that directory and gain some FOLLOW web juice. Local, national or international matters not to your keyword phrase being included…they all work for you!

Honestly, think on that for a second – Google itself will help you find solid, reliable, dependable IBLs (incoming back links) that will help you rank for your own SMB site…could there be any greater way that this to build some IBL strengths? So if you’re looking for relevant, niche directory opportunities that are valuable your business and to your prospective new customers…then this works perfectly!

Oh and there are many many other Google search term qualifiers to use too like these for instance –

  • {Keyword} directory
  • {Keyword} inurl:directory
  • {keyword} sponsorship
  • {Keyword} intitle:directory
  • {Keyword} sponsor
  • {Keyword} news
  • {Keyword} links
  • {Keyword} intitle:donor
  • {Keyword} press
  • {Keyword} resources
  • {Keyword} submit website
  • {Keyword} submit URL

As you can tell, it’s work plugging in those terms, getting those web results pages and then drilling-down to mine for suitable IBL location links…not easy, but then not done by many either as far as we can tell!

And yes note too, that some of those IBL candidates may NOT be the best ones to use…you’ll have to drill-down not only to learn whether or not you can get a link from same but whether that link has ANY real value too….think about quality not quantity here too is what I’m saying!

Finding the niches where you can excel for Canadian SEO is an easy task when you know how, eh!
