Fabulous Infographic Friday!
Ah…Fridays and yes, it’s time once more for some Infographic pointers and we’ve got a couple of great ones – and an eBook too tha are well worth the clicks for Canadian SEO, eh!
And a reminder that for most/many/some of us SEO practitioners, Infographics still – emphasis on still – work for both the sharing of complex info and stats…and for SEO rankings too. That’s what I believe. That’s what our own empirical testing shows for clients that we have that “do” the Infographic tactic to gain Authority/Trust and yes, rankings too!
Of course there are naysayers to that too…the blog-O-sphere was full of that kind of tripe just a few weeks back (names protected to save the innocently illadvised!)…and I don’t buy it. Infographics work and I’ve proven same over the past 4 or 5 years now and love the results – well the clients love their traffic & conversions from same so I guess that’s the bottom line.
So, to begin today, here’s a great one that I found just this week and it’s from the folks over at kissmetrics.com and its entitled “How Colors Affect Conversions” and you can find it here….and it’s well worth the study. I especially liked the case study area that showed the ketchup kings at Heinz, who changed the color of their ketchup itself from red to green and enjoyed the biggest surge ever in sales in 7 short months! Is this new? Nope, it’s like 10 months old and yes I did point it out way back here on this blog – but I thought it important to mention it again….look it over! Color can really make a difference to a site visitor and when it comes to conversions, it’s a tactic that you do once and reap benefits from visit after visit, day after day!
In today’s digital environment, influence and popularity matter. Whether you’re a startup looking to gain traction, on the hunt for a job, or an entertainer trying to book gigs, it may be tempting to purchase followers. But is risking your reputation worth it? Let’s take a look the below infographic called Fake it to make it from Who Is Hosting This that outlines; should you buy your way to social media fame, who’s faking it, what’s the price of large following, why real trumps fake, and how to spot a social media faker. All of these are important in that we SEO types have always thought that if you’ve got a real following and that is recognized by the search engines themselves, that this will matter and count for your own rankings. And yes, there’s lots more here too at the whoishostingthis blog….
And yes, I’ve saved the best today for last…and that’s this great e-book by the wonders over at hubspot.com entitled “SEO Tips from the Experts” and you can find it here…and here’s how they explain the background on this tome –
“To help you master SEO, we rallied some of the top experts in the industry to help clearly explain how to tackle every aspect of SEO. These experts come from various SEO companies, and all have a vested interest in the art of organic search optimization. Check out their expert tips in this infographic (which you can feel free to embed on your own website using the embed code below), and then navigate below for a quick explanation of what these tips mean for your search marketing strategy…”
As you can tell, they have assembled a great group of SEO practitioners – gurus like Rand Fishkin, Grey Shuey, Dharmesh Shah and more…and the list is well populated with folks who know, practice and love SEO!
And one more note….and I on-purpose put it down here at the end of this blog post….is that not a single one of these three items is new. Yet all are still spot-on, the advice offered is still on-point and lastly, as you can see if you do the click/read/understand thingy on these, that yes good advice lasts!Google
