If you know the startup ecosystem here in Hamilton, you then know of our own Lion’s Lair Gala competition where startups compete for big money and prizes…and as just last night we celebrated our Lions’ Lair 2013 evening – you know I was there.

As last year, I was actually a contestant in the competition and ended up in the top 10 Finalists, I couldn’t offer up any prizes or sponsorships – but this year my online marketing firm, KKT INTERACTIVE Inc. offered up a full SEO Campaign (a $12k package) to the prize pool as our own contribution to the overall successs of the gala.

And what a great night it was too! With over 500 of us up at the Carmen’s Banquet Centre for a full evening of ceremonies, ably led by our own Dr. Nick Bontis, we – in fact I’d surmise the whole room of us had a wonderful evening. We networked, we ate finger foods, we chatted, we met new “movers & shakers” from all over our city and I for one was more than happy I’d attended.

So….who won? Well, I’ll not say here but instead point you at a great recap of the Lions, the winners and what they took home as their prize package too!

Go here, to read a great article on same by Meredith MacLeod, of our own Hamilton Spectator and read her piece entitled “RZR Skate Blades win Lion’s Lair”

And if there is any single one thing that stands out for me as the “bestest” part of the evening, it was the laughs and outright chuckles that the 500+ of us attendees had watching the great video produced by both the Innovation Factory and our Hamilton Chamber to help start-off the whole evening!

What a great video and kudos to our own #HamOnt video firm Creative Media for the great work on same!

And lastly, who won our own SEO Campaign prize offering?

The winner was the overall 3rd Place winner, Sean Snyder of TrendTrunk….and we can’t wait to get started on driving new traffic to his site. Kudos Sean and to all the Lion’s Lair 2013 contestants too!
