SEO & Infographics: The Legend Lives On!
Okay, you know that I like SEO, right? Well, love is perhaps a better verb here…and at the same time when an SEO tactic begins to get traction, i.e. using a certain method or process to gain some SEO rankings is something I also love reporting on, right?
If you answered “yes” to those two questions then it’s because you must be a regular visitor here and know that I love the legendary link between SEO and Infographics and have written substantially on that link too before as well.
And that’s what this blog piece is about today….as I’ve now got some tangible proof on the popularity of Infographics and also a great link to an SEO expert and her take on how to promote just that kind of SEO tactic!
First, of course, the link between SEO Campaigns and Infographics is very well known…this is not a new factor to consider when you’re an SMB owner and trying to come up with a way to promote your own site and it’s search engine rankings.
What you might want to do – just to “cement” that link in your own brain might be to say read some posts by other SEO practitioners on their usage and success of using Infographics to gain clients new traction and visitors….and there’s millions of hits on say “do infographics help SEO campaigns” if you click here. One of the best sources for that precept is Nick over at Brick Marketing Inc. in Boston and his own post on same is #1 for that search…do go and read Nick on this to get a vision of what can be done using Infographics.
I’ve quoted Nick too, in my own blog post of more that a year ago, entitled “Friday Infographics: A look at their SEO Value!” here, and others too….it’s a certainty that yes, Infographics – good ones mind you! – do play a role in an SMB’s SEO Campaign.
And proving that point even further, try this link here to a great Infographic entitled “Why Infographics are So Popular” here and it spells out for you some of the top rationales as to why use of same can help. Scroll down on this one…look at the bottom in the Infographic footer and see some amazing stats on Infographics like “over 87% of visitors tend to read text placed on Infographics” and “over 32% of marketers agreed that an Infographic makes them more relevant!”
Good stuff and so Kudos to the folks over at www.graphs.net for the creative on this one! Oh – do add these guys to your own weekly blog reading list here…they produce some pretty relevant content…and that’s always a good thing to stay ahead of, eh!
But figuring out the “how” to promote your own Infographic to gain some links and traction and the resulting slow climb of SEO serps, can be perhaps an intimidating set of tasks.
There’s probably millions of hits for “how to promote an infographic” (3,550,000 in google.ca – I just checked) but for me, I tend to try to find solid rationales from SEO leaders and that can be a daunting task if you’re not an SEO practitioner.
That is, so which of those millions of hits for that term on promoting an infographic are you going to click on, read, digest and then act on?
Let me help here…as here’s a great recent post by Ann Smarty, a well known expert on many things including yes, SEO and blogging too. Her post is chock full of great ideas to help you – here’s a taste of same -
“Yet there is a shocking lack of understanding when it comes to visual content and what part it plays in all of this. How many times have you gone to a blog with endless posts, but only a single stock photo at the top of each one? Or seen a site that has linked to something that borrowed a photo from an unrelated link because the original had nothing to show in the thumbnail?
This is always incredibly frustrating, because it shows they just don’t get it. Visual content is a crucial element to the overall marketability of all content. Without it, you are just shooting yourself in the foot then signing up for a 5K. To be effective, you need to give yourself every benefit possible, and visuals are a biggy…”
As you can see, Ann makes the point that you need to use every single bit of “smarts” when it comes to site promotion and that includes Infographics too….and she adds 3 really usable points for you to consider too!
So do click on same, as this is a great piece and well worth the click if you’re considering any type of a Canadian SEO Campaign, eh!Google
