conductor-1Big grin here as recent data shows Google is placing increasing weight on Google+ in the search results, at least as it pertains to personal brand searches as is reported in a study done by Conductor.com!

Further analysis of that study shows a majority of the world’s top tech writers have Google + accounts and have, by now, taken a step further by establishing authorship in the SERPs.

And yes, this analysis suggests establishing authorship has moved past the early adopter stage and those Marketers who have not yet established authorship and who are not regularly sharing content on Google+ would be wise to do so.

Those results come from a major survey/study that was done over the past half-year by Conductor.com and here’s how they summarized that study -

“A study released this week by Conductor.com found that postings from Google Plus personal accounts have seen a 10% increase in page 1 organic search placement in Google for the time period of January 2012 to May 2013. The analysis was performed by conducting personal brand searches (i.e. name searches) for 500 of the world’s top tech writers. Conductor found that 9 out of 10 tech writers in the analysis have a Google Plus account and 74% of those with Google Plus accounts had taken the step of setting up Google Authorship.”

As you can tell if you read here regularily, I’ve been an early adopter of the whole Authorship tactic for months….posting on it here and here and here and here and here too and the case study done by Jeff is here too.

So Google+ Authorship works!

We SEO practitioners thought it would…and the data so far says we’re right!

So if you’re trying to create a personal brand/authority reputation or trying to just create content that you have the skills to post about, then I’d say that yes, Google+ Authorship is for you – and it’ll build your serps at the same time too!
