Fabulous Friday: It’s Infographics Once Again!
So first off, anyone who has done SEO in the past knows the importance of internal and external linking.
You not only need to link to your posts but also other sites you find valuable.
Getting quality links to your work is important too. Incion has put together an infographic that shows how you should approach internal and external linking on your website and it’s a great one to start off this post with and they intro it thusly –
“Website linking is the glue that connects the Internet to itself through thousands and millions of connections. Whether it is conventional HTML links, social media linking, back-linking or video and image linking, each connection takes people to more and more information everyday, making up 9.2 trillion links on the web today. This infographic explains the various findings related to Website Links…”
As you can see, they make notes on much of the value of Links, but the part that I especially nodded at was this – that “domain authority represents 78% of the link metric choices while backlinks (IBLs) came in second at 57%!” concering the “value” of a link!!!
Think on that for a minute or two…and then think about your own SMB website…do you have such principles in your own mix?
Are you very adept at the value ranking of a domain when it comes to a link? Or will any of those “panda-or-penguin-ized” link farms, wheels, directories work for you?
That’s an important item to consider, eh!
And as I suspect that there are many readers here who don’t even know what links they have…never mind if they’re working for them or against them!
To finish off todays Infographics roundup, I would like to propose that you DO click on the link below, if you’ve ever wanted to learn what it is you don’t know about “marketing jargon” as this infographic by the folks over at Mashable and there’s really two items here…
First up is the great simple infographic that lists the “Top 30 Days of Buzzwords” and it’s a fine start to learn what we in the digital marketing world use as terms for our tasks.
It’s so so simple and easy to use too…just click on any of the terms and you’ll get more information on it’s own page – deep thoughtful info too! For instance, do you know what a “value proposition” is? Click on that one and you’ll find out, eh!
But that’s not all the “marketing jargon” that Mashable can unfurl for you via their infographics!
Here is their own “30 Overused Buzzwords In Digital Marketing” and yup, I’ve run into them all…usually miss-used by clients mind you but yup, they’re important to know, understand and yes, use properly!
And they do this list of 30 with a slight “tongue in cheek” attitude too, eh!
Earned media? What’s that you ask? Well the infographic shows that it should be considered “…second-party distribution of your message with no cost to you….”
Yup. Spot on.
Known by many? Nope.
But hey, isn’t that what learning is all about?Google
