Infographics on SEO for 2013!
And yes, you will also most likely already know, that when it comes to the marriage between SEO and infographics, that one can easily get the “gist” of the thought that went into the creation of an infographic – you can learn from simply absorbing the images and the thoughts behind same. Infographics work well in passing along strategy and tactics…and I mean the work well, eh!
But I’m in the office today and quite willing to offer up a couple of winners today – let’s call this post my “Sorry-my-post-is-Late Saturday” infographic offering…and while I’m late this week, these are in no way any less knowledgeable offerings…
First up today is a great one from a UK based SEO practitioner, Ben Norman and you can find it here …and it really is pretty all encompassing in it’s dealings with SEO and what you do need to know to operate in the “now” SEO channel.
A couple of things that I wanted to point out are also “new” to me – in that I’m still testing them but as he points out these tactical ideas too this means to me that yup, I am on the right track too….a nice way to validate your own thinking!
First one I had to mention is this…that as many of you already know, I’m “deep” into the AuthorShip & AuthorRank themes in relations between Google’s web search, Google+ and the movement of serp rankings by establishing oneself as an “authority” in your own channel. Ben also points out just that same set of values and ends on the note “that verified Authors will gain more authority…” <big Canadian SEO grin here!>
However, that’s not to say that I’d agree with everything he notes….of particular interest to me is the section covering Technical SEO, and the note that Title tags should have a maximum of only 70 chars - something that I know is not correct anymore…there is a ton of information on that from a few truly hard-boiled SEO practitioners.
My own favourite via his testing and publishing of those tests, is Darren Slatten of seomofo.com – you can find more information on that testing here too….and a note that Darren’s work is pretty much “bleeding edge” stuff….you would be smart to follow his only occasionaly blog postings when he does that….a solid way to stay current! Smartest thing would be to add both Ben’s and Darren’s blogs to your own Bookmarks and drop by often! I do…and it’s a smart way to stay current, eh!
The second Infographic is another winner and I’m covering it here for all my clients and readers who use WordPress – and wonder if you’re doing “all” you can do to gain traction, SEO traction from within this great ubiquitous app!
Go to this great site – www.rightwaysolution.com – and then drill down to this link that has 20 great – and I mean great tips on how to SEO your own WordPress theme and gain that traction quickly!
And much is covered…from using your robots.txt file to disallow your category and tags folders to your admin pages too….great advice and I’m always so surprised to learn that for many many clients the robots.txt file is a total unknown element! Guess that’s because mostly only us SEO practitioners know about same…and use it too!
And there’s more too…from how to use your ALT tags within the image admin areas to how to use Social media Share tags too! Nicely done….and yes, again…I’d add rightwaysolutions to your Bookmarks too!
Ahh….Saturday…a great day to catch up on what you’ve had to slide on at the end of the week!Google
