CBC Hamilton WebCast: Our Show!

What was billed as Amanda Lang versus #HamOnt and how we panelists were to defend our community’s honour when it comes to innovation and productivity somehow still happened – but not with Amanda Lang.

Delayed we were told, so she wouldn’t be available for the live stream WebCast, meant that the whole show might have collapsed…except not quite. Our own CBCHamilton reporter Julia Chapman who was the driving force and facilitator for this national show stepped up – and boy did she ever!

Julia ably led the panel discussion, with both her own questions and we really tried to answer those queries and I’d say for the most part, we did great!

And our panelists were – Ron Neumann of our #HamOnt Innovation Factory and Stephanie McLarty of REfficient.com….both very successful, knowledgeable #HamOnt cheerleaders who know our city well! I was so privileged to have been asked to be on that panel….that means a lot to me, so thanks Julia and for your leadership on this too!

But we also did have “digital access” to Amanda as she was being driven to Hamilton, and she was able to send us questions via her smartphone that our local CBC tech staff got up for us to both receive and then see on the studio teleprompter – and boy were some of those great queries too!

We talked I believe for almost a full hour and each of us tried to speak from the heart about what we know of our community and what we see as our future. I was proud of both Stephanie McLarty and Ron Neumann and their contributions to the whole show…..what a real privilege to have been asked to be a part of this show!
