Happy Third Birthday to CanuckSEO.com!
Three years ago this week, I created this blog aptly subtitled “Canadian SEO for Google Success” and I will be the first one to admit, I’ve truly enjoyed the opportunity to both write and ponder on all things pertaining to search engines.
Three years…that’s a lot of time…and in that time, we’ve tried to show what we feel are relevant items in the SEO world…to any and all of our readers…and what a great group of readers we do have, eh!
In the past year alone, we’ve grown pretty much like Topsy! In looking at our annual analytics I see that we average about 9,000 uniques a month and they read on average 60,000+ pages per month too. And a quick Majestic look/see shows me that the site has more than 140,000+ IBLs too…that’s inbound backlinks that pass “juice” to us hence our great own rankings in the search engines! All of that to me, remembering that I’m really trying to be “Canadian SEO” only is pretty impressive.
Do things in my SEO world still bug me? Yup, the rate at which Google makes algo changes and the resulting issues that such changes cause me with client campaigns is very much an issue. SEO wanna-bees who inflict their BS on our LinkedIN groups also bug me too….but that said, SEO and online marketing in general are still sweet to me!
Oh, a point to make on that term “online marketing”…. We used to be chuffed with sending huge new traffic potential leads to client sites….and be measured by same. However as we learned, the ability to convert that traffic into leads was the client worry….and we slowly took on same for a selected small group…till now when we offer full SEO/Online marketing programs to one and all. It’s a good thing for our client list…and their ROI shines too!
But besides our SEO forte, as most of you know we’ve also covered – especially here in our Hamilton region, as much of our startup community as we can…on a regular basis too! And with our Innovation Factory so big here locally, covering their events like Lion’s Lair and Cafe If and their P2P Groups is fun! As is our local SoftwareHamilton.com group too ably led by Kevin Browne with his DemoCampHamilton series, StartupWeekends, Startup Drinks…etc etc.
All things considered, I’m a proud #HamOnt citizen and I always try to remember to “push” our city to everyone I find a chance to chat with….the horizon is there for us all to see…and to strive to push out as we and our fine city grows!
Kudos to every single person and firm who helps in that quest…#HamOnt rules, eh! And now back to our regularily scheduled SEO practice…Google
