SEO Practitioners: New Jobs Abound!

Those of us who follow the online marketing world know – and have had it pounded into our conciousness – that the SEO channel is growing by leaps and bounds, and a new survey and it’s subsequent report over at Conductor shows just why that is, eh!

As noted in the preamble, organic SEO drives about 50% of all traffic to websites, which is 500% more than all the Social Media channels combined. Think about that for a second…5x greater than ALL the branded tweets, LI groups, Facebook page likes….5x greater. There’s a statistic that made me whoop right out loud, eh….and the survey has lots more to say on that too!

 The realization that this 50% of all web traffic coming from SEOs means – yes, that the need fo SEO capable practitioners is a growing channel that many should look at, IHMO!

LinkedIn reports that the number of SEO skilled members who list same in their title or description grew in the past year by 112%! While job listings on LinkedIN have grown by 1900% in the past 5 years!

 So…what’s it all mean? Well, in my SEO world….if you’re looking for a career in a marketing channel that needs a distant horizon…and you have pretty good research skills, reasoning skills and can hit a “moving target” then I’d think that the SEO job market just might be an attractive one for you.

Personal note…we use contractors here for our own Canadian SEO practice – and based on our past 10 years of doing just that, every single (except for one lottery winner!) one who has left our employ, has gone on to open up their own SEO firm. Nicely that is….we suffer from no ill effects and there are so so so so so many clients out there, that there’s room for all. But every single one of them has found success in their own market city….
