FabulousFriday Infographics: A RoundUp for SEO!
Okay, it’s a Friday again and I’m jammed, but by now our regular readers know that….end-of-the-week issues for us always arise as clients and Google seem to want to make changes just before the weekend starts…sigh….the life of a Canadian SEO practitioner is fraught with too many tasks in short timelines, eh!
So, Infographics….today we begin with a great one by Infographic Labs you can find here…and it’s a real basic look at what Infographics are, and what they can be. It outlines what they are but better than that, it also offers up seven steps to learn how to make your own. Cool! And yes, as an Infographic in it’s own right, it’s well laid out and designed and passes along the information and data in a nice and pleasing manner too! So #kudos to Infographic Labs!
Next up for this Fabulous Friday is a cool Infographic from CardHub.com you can find here, that shows how Social Credit Cards are becoming when it comes to finding new users in our colleges and universitys.
The site had this to say about same “remember the days when you could score all sorts of free swag just by filling out a credit card application at one of those tables that banks used as mobile college student recruiting stations on campuses nationwide? Well, those days ended with the passage of the CARD Act, which prohibits such on-campus pitches, but that does not mean that college kids aren’t still a prized demographic, particularly since the law does not restrict credit card companies from making a name for themselves online. Indeed, social media is the new frontier for credit card marketing, as you can see from the fun and useful infographic below…”
And that is so true as a solid perusal of this Infographic will prove out, Credit Card marketing is changing due to the recent US Credit Card Act and as they also report that in 2012 $50 billion dollars will be charged to credit cards….it’s a great Infographic to learn from!
Lastly up today, is a post without an Infographic – but from an SEO practitioner that I totally respect and who has earned great #kudos globally for his take on all things Google – Ross Hudgins and his blog posting here…entitled “How to Future Proof Your Infographic Strategy” is both on topic and of great help. Background tho on same is that recently Eric Enge interviewed Matt Cutts, the public voice of Google on various SEO topics, but yes…Infographics came up. And what Matt had to say, or what he hinted at…or said was “I would not be surprised if at some point in the future we did not start to discount these infographic-type links to a degree…”
Ross covers that in his blog piece and this alone is so well worth the click….as is a quick read of the Enge interview as well….looks like Infographics are both under some increased scrutiny by Google and a reminder, that when Matt “hints” at something, it’s often from a “following” POV….ie Google is already looking at same, eh!
Sigh…as Canadian SEO gets more and more diverse….it takes a lot of time to even keep up with the real changes let alone hints of upcoming ones too, eh! Enjoy your weekend!Google
