WITHamOnt Launches at Baltimore House!
Short posting today….trying to finish off still what’s been a very very busy week…but as a member of the group that attended last evening’s launch of our #HamOnt “Women in Technology Hamilton” event at the Baltimore House, it was a great event, eh!
Yup, sure was. I went early (as always) and had a great time meeting with more than three dozen of Hamilton’s “best and brightest” women who wanted to come out to the lauch of this new group – and as one of the very few men in the room, it was so so nice to see the turnout!
While there was much talk and networking, what impressed me greatly was the turnout of variou other #HamOnt groups ably represented by various folks I both already know – and whom I met for the first time too! Met and saw great contacts from McMaster like Sandy Reynolds of their Centre for Continuing Education Department, and Dana Dobbie of DDobbie.com a great local web desginer and Mindy Tweedle fromTweedle Productions, and Steph and Tammy from our #HamOnt Innovation Factory and Bill Beattie noted #HamOnt Real Estate expert and Arlene Beattie of End the Chaos and David Hills of DHillsSales and there were so so many others that I just didn’t get enough time to meet them all! What a great networking event, eh!
If you’ve a minute or two, do go here to the NewsClipTV video, shot by Michael Canton of Valleytown Media….it shows off the night’s event and nicely recaps some of the various folks who attended and were interviewed too! I especially like that Stephanie McLarty of REfficient was on that video and her comments were great to see…. As was the clip from Joey Coleman, noted Hamilton journalist here…and yes the event was even covered here by our own CBCHamilton site too!
Was the event launch a success? Yes, it truly was. Was it well attended? Yes, it was. Were the sponsors duly noted and recognized? Yes they were and for that all of the credit and much thanks goes out to Shanta Nathwani, the LinkedIn group leader and site owner here….
Big kudos, Shanta…job well done girl! I’ll be back for more and from what I saw last night, your launch went off well…and you’ve got some traction…keep up the good work! #HamOnt grows…and that’s a damn fine thing, eh! And I hope to see you all at the next Women in Technology Hamilton event!
