Poll: On What We SEO Types Want to call Google PlaceSearch?

Okay, so Google just “blended” their algo — moving away from a seperate Places (Maps) algo and their Web Results ones and have combined same.

And the official Google name that they’ve chosen to use is “Google PlaceSearch” but like many SEO types,  I hate that name!

And not only me it appears as many other SEO practitioners have made comments too, using their own name for this new combined serp results page…and I thought that as it’s Friday, I’d post a quick poll to see what we SEO types wanna call same!

So, in no particular order…here’s the current contenders from some of the TOP SEO practitioners on the web today….

[poll id=”2″]

Oh, and that aint all of them I’m pretty sure too! If you have any more, just send me the link to the SEO blogger who’s using same, and I’ll be quick to add it too!

Oh, single vote per IP only, of course….and the “winner” of same will win something…something “Canadian”! Don’t know if I’ve any moosemeat roasts in the freezer still, but it will be something purely Canuck eh!

UPDATE:

We waited for the full weekend to finish and the results have been tabulated and the votes counted and the winner is — Mike Blumenthal from http://blumenthals.com/blog/ and the winning “new name” for this is “Loco-Organic” — at least that’s what our teensy little sample of voters have to say! Congrats, Mike and your prize will be sent to you shortly…something typically Canadian, eh! Yup….here’s a quick look at same!

  1. Richard A says:

That’s Google for you. Always in transition.

  2. Jim says:

@Richard…aint that the truth! Nice thing tho “usually” about being canucks, is that they roll-out things generally in g.com before up here in g.ca….so we usually get an advantage of learning from our American cousins first….

That said, not this time, eh!

    :(

    Jim

  3. Dennis says:

Sorry Jim but where is the “None of the above” choice?

    –Dennis

  4. Linda Buquet says:

    Hey Jim,

    I call it localMerge.

Short, simple and descriptive for clients to understand.
Plus that’s really what happened. The local & organic algos AND layouts merged.

And as a sidenote Google’s experimental link included that phrase:
    &esrch=LocalMergeImpl::Experiment

However if I had to vote on one of the above it would be Mike’s because all these changes ARE pretty loco and Google is driving me Bingy! ;-)

  5. Jim says:

@Linda — added your own item and gave you a vote too!

    Anyone else?

    :-)

    Jim

  6. Rozer says:

Increase the traffic to your website and get improved return on investment…give Jim
    a call, eh!
